Well done to our tri club members who've been competing across the country.
Alison Fryer-Jones stormed to a second place in the Cotswold Women's Only novice tri (200m/20km/2.5km) in 57:40. Considering she was really worried about the swim she did really well and was 17th coming out of the water. Well done Ali!
It was also a good day for Emma Davies and Colleen Mullarkey who did the Sprint Event (400m/20km/2.5km). Emma finished in 11th place in 1:04:04 and Colleen in 30th place in 1:13:59 despite having been really ill for two weeks. It's a great event for 'laayydees' starting out - sorry boys!
Stuart Austin is recovering after doing his first ever triathlon on June 6th at Lake Coniston in the Lake District. Do you remember the weather that weekend!?! "The swim was freezing, it had snowed on Friday and with waves you could surf. Bodenham is a like a warm bath by comparison. He nearly had to turn turtle but managed to keep going concentrating on form and technique. Thw bike was hilly but he said "I felt ok with all Wheelers training and TT". The run was flat and part off road. He made it home in 2:43 - winner 2:17 - 27th overall and 10th Male Vet." Well done Stuart!
Congratulations also to Anthony Waddington and Dave Taylor who did the Bala Half Ironman/Long Distance race last weekend. Tony finished in 91st place in a very, very strong field (it was the national championships) in 4:47:53. He did the bike in just 2:28:12 (50th). Dave Taylor also braved the horrendous, horrendous hill run and finished in 278th place in 5:25:53. Well done guys!
Remember to let Nicola know your results so we can congratulate each other...
