Welcome...

We at Hereford Triathlon Club are a fun, friendly club for all ages, shapes and sizes.  We've got 50 to 60 members ranging from complete beginners to men and women who've represented Britain at international age-group competitions.  Some of our members like to swim, bike and run just to keep fit and take part in one or two races per year, whilst others have become completely obsessed with the sport and can't get enough of competing!  We run regular training sessions for all abilities and have special swimming, cycling and running training for people who are completely new to triathlon.  The club's aim is simply for us all to enjoy sport, make friends and have fun.

Two records broken and best ever turn-out at Hereford Tri

Despite the blustery conditions, the annual Hereford Sprint Triathlon saw a record number of finishers and the swim and bike records were blown away.

Nick Slim of Tewkesbury Tri Club was the overall winner in 47:53. His bike split of 24:01 broke the previous record but he wasn't the fastest cyclist on the day.  The new bike record holder is Mark Corbett who did the 15 kilometres in 23:28.

Paul Rogers of BCT continued his good form in this race and led his team home with a second placed finish of 48:12.  In third place was Mark French of Tri Team Gloucester in 49:21.  Mark, who's a junior, also broke the course swim record in 4:30.

Jane Wood of Tri Team Gloucester was the first woman to finish in 56:33.  In second place was her team-mate Sally Poll in 57:16 with Hereford Kayak Club's Sharon Colley in third place in 57:39.

It was a good day for local athletes.  Hereford Kayak Club's Steve King finished in fourth overall in 49:37, Luke Williams from Hereford Wheelers wasn't far behind in 54:07 and Hereford Tri Club and RAF Tri Team member Sue Pugh was the fourth woman to finish in 57:49.

178 people raced; the highest number of finishers ever in the race.  A record number of 41 people racing also finished in under an hour.
