Duathlon Results

A huge thanks to all of you who competed, marshalled, officiated and cheered at our annual club-run Hereford Duathlon.  With almost 180 entries and 159 people racing, it was by far the largest amount of competitors we've had in the history of the event. All of our helpers are volunteers and without them the race wouldn't take place so a big well done to you all.  We'd especially like to say thanks to Stef and Alan, our dynamic results duo.  Alan is leaving us to live in a hot and sunny country so this was his last race volunteering for the club - thanks Alan and we'll see you next year when we all come and stay with you (all 200 plus of us).  See you at our triathlon on July 3rd or at next year's duathlon.   Main event results   Shorter event results

Duathlon Competitor Information

We're expecting more than 160 people to be racing on Sunday, the biggest field that we've had for the duathlon.  Thank you for your support.  If you have any friends who are planning to race, please remind them that entries close at midnight on Friday and there won't be any entries on the day.

We're expecting a dry day with light winds and temperatures of 12 degrees but please keep an eye on the weather forecast.  Due to the rain we've had this week, there are a few small patches of mud on the track across the field at the end of the running loop.  The rest of the run course is on pavements or tarmac roads so we would recommend that you wear road shoes but please take care as you run along the path.

All of the information that you should need and your British Triathlon day permit should have reached you via email today (Thursday).  If you haven't received it, please email us at

The race starts and finishes at Whitecross Sports College, 3 Elms Road, Hereford, HR4 0RN   The car parks and registration will be open from 0730 until 0830.  Supporters and anybody arriving after 0830 must park at The Range opposite the school.

See you on Sunday

Duathlon - FAQs

Thanks to all of you who have already entered our duathlon on April 10th.  We're expecting to have more than 150 people taking part.   Here are some of the questions which we're regularly asked. There is more information on the duathlon page of the website.

The race (both distances) starts at 9am on the playing fields behind the school. It's a mass start so everybody will go off at the same time.  The car park, registration and transition will open at 0730.  You'll need your paper race number(s) to get into transition so you need to park up, register and get your number(s) and then grab your stuff and enter transition. The car park and registration will shut promptly at 0830 so don't leave it too late.

Any bike is fine as long as it's safe and roadworthy so you must have brakes on both wheels and tyres with tread on them (not bald)  You will also need to have bar end stoppers in, this is to minimise injury in case you fall off and on to your handlebars. We will have officials from British Triathlon and our marshals checking this as you come into transition.

YES. You will not be able to compete without one.  You must have your helmet on and done up before you remove your bike from the rack.  You must put your bike back on the rack before you remove your helmet to go back out on the second run.

NO. Anybody found to be wearing headphones during the race will receive a penalty and may be disqualified. We want you to be able to hear the traffic, the marshals, the officials and the nice people who are cheering you on.

Road shoes will be fine unless we have lots of rain in the weeks before the race. There is a short cross country section but the earth is compacted so road shoes are suitable.

Our amazing results team will be beavering away throughout the race so all you need to do is go to the results table and your time will be displayed on the screen.  All of the results will be on this website on Sunday night after the race.

Just ask any of the marshals or officials. They will be happy to help and answer any of your questions.  There will also be a briefing in transition for all competitors at 0830.

Please don't worry.  Everybody will get help from the marshals whether they're first or last. Somebody will be the final competitor to finish but they will get a massive cheer.  If you are finding the last run difficult we can always find a club member to run with you.

Yes. There are portable toilets next to transition and changing rooms and showers which can be used after the race.

Oh Yes! There will be a charity stall selling tea, coffee and cake after the race.  They can't provide water bottles for the race though so please make sure that you bring your own.

Remembering loved ones, creating new memories and raising funds for St Michael’s

Hereford Triathlon Club raised more than five hundred pounds for St Michael’s Hospice at their AGM and annual social night by remembering lost loved ones and helping to create new fun memories. Club member Alison Turner had splashed out on a 1950s Austin in memory of her parents and her brother Graham who had passed away in 2014. Alison wanted to remember them by creating new, fun-filled memories. After a chance conversation during a club bike ride, Alison decided to auction a trip to Hay and back in the Austin, complete with a cream tea, to see if she could raise a few pounds for the hospice. Nobody had predicted the bidding to be so fierce, but the trip eventually sold for £90, way above any expectations. There was another surprise in store.  Three club members; James Richards, Seb Wiles and Tac Bartlett, immediately presented the Austin trip to retiring club coach Bill Berry and his wife Marilyn as a thank you for the decades of volunteer time that he has given to the members. Together with the auction of two strength and conditioning packages generously donated by Ady Watts and a raffle containing presents donated by Chaingang Cycles and Coombes Cycles, the members raised more than five hundred pounds for St Michael’s. There was so much demand for another chance to have a trip in Alison’s beautiful Austin car that it was immediately decided that the auction should become an annual event.

Despite the blustery conditions almost 200 people took part in the Herefordshire league race. £200 for the hospices ass. was also raised on the cake stall. Proof that runners like cake!  The next cross country league race is on Sunday January 10th at Monkhall Court Farm, Dewsall. See you there.......

Duathlon Results

Well done to all of you who battled against the wind and took part in today's annual Hereford Duathlon.  We hope you enjoyed it?  Don't forget, the annual Herefordshire Sprint Triathlon takes place on Sunday June 21st at Leominster Leisure Centre. You can find out more and how to enter by clicking on the triathlon page.

Our races wouldn't be able to take place without the amazing effort of our committee and club volunteers.  Almost half of the club turned out to help at today's race and quite a few were racing too including our winner Eliot Taylor! We'd also like to thank Tracy and Marion, the BTF officials and Bod and Jim, our motorcycle officials plus, of course, the ever cheerful Stef and Alan who organise the results.

Here are the results. We hope to see you at the triathlon or next year's duathlon
